If your system is 32bit you can't build a multiboot USB with SARDU with installer of Windows Seven or Windows Eight 64 bit. The reason is because windows 32 bit can't execute 64bit exe

The system I use to create SARDU USB sticks is a 64bit system. The 32bit system I referred to was purely to test on.

Also, on my 64bit laptop, the other items on the SARDU multi-boot USB seem to load fine...I'm just having problems with the Win7/Win8 AIO installers.

Hi

SARDU 32BIT run's also under 64BIT Systems? I can't test it, you?
Important information: Don't change the SARDU screen or menu's when you want a fine working SARDU. 8-)

Hi there UFdFan,

Yes, my system is 64bit and I am able to run both versions of the SARDU exe files, but only really run the 32bit version because that is what I've seen Davide recommend.

As I'm sure you've seen from this thread, I am having a devil of a time to get the Win installers to work for me. I guess my next steps will be to first try it on the pending release that Davide is working on and then with some other bootable usb creation tools and see if they share any GRUB or memdisk settings that work for me that I can apply to my SARDU USB stick. I'd rather not make too many custom adjustments since those could be overwritten and not part of the stock creation. Whatever will work though..

Hello schuc69

I was running into the same issue that you have been describing exactly.

After reading through all of the posts here. This is what worked for me.

Step 1
Davidecosta stated that you needed to use RMPrepUSB, but he was unable to tell you why.

Follow the picture here: howto-and-faq/how-to-format-usb-fat-32-t63.html

What it will do is mark the 7mb of the drive unbootable/unusable , and format the rest of the disk as FAT32.
It is actually a problem within 7mb of the drive that is causing the issue. Which explains why the 16GB flash drive worked, and the 128GB drive doesn't.

Step 2
Create the bootable USB Drive with your Windows Installers.

Step 3
Follow the steps stated by aqkhan

Extract the original ISO using winrar. Then manually copy the sources folder contants from the original ISO to source8 (windows 8 sources folder) on the USB Drive.

Which also means that there is a problem with the sardu application or with the version &zip it uses. Wheither it is during the extraction or the copying of the extracted files I am unsure.

Step 4
boot off the usb drive.

It should be working. This is what I had to do to get it to work.

@ Daivdecosta Great work on the sardu project. If I offended you by the previous statement, I am sorry. If you find out what the bug is or if you think I'm wrong please message me.

@aqkhan Great troubleshooting. You nailed it on the head for me atleast.

If SARDU donìt extract all files...if the user reported this I can change the rules of SARDU.

SARDU extract the folder named SOURCES. Are you sure than any antivirus or firewall don't lock SARDU?

I made sure that the antivirus was disabled, and even uninstalled it at one point.

It would create the source folder however it didn't copy the complete contents of its subfolders and the files within them.

I will use sardu on another system to create bootable usb drive. With the same iso's to make sure that it wasn't data corruption by my systems hardware

I have created another bootable USB Drive on another system.

It worked with zero issues.

Sorry about the bad posts and I understand if you delete them. I should have done more testing, and tried using sardu on another system before posting anything on the board.

Apologies

Nice way to find out about bad hardware..
