with NTFS can't use barrosu and can't have both seven and eight.
The solution is compress or split the install.wim file

@UFDfan: Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have run into the 4G limit already as most AIO CDs I find now are over 4G so that makes it hard. Have you done any testing with formatting any large USB sticks with NTFS yet? It sounds like that will be the way to go if SARDU is ok with that file system.

@Davide: From how I read your reply, you are saying that NTFS definitely will not work, so I shouldn't waste my time on it..Is that correct? In just the past couple days I was able to get imagex and tried to compress the install.wim I have for the Win7 AIO, but it came back saying it could not be compressed any more. I don't know how to split one yet though. I need to find some sort of guide on how to use the tool.

Well, i think most of the people has this problem with win 7 and 8 All in One and providing different solutions at different forum, some said that your iso should not be greater then 4gb because it is not supported by fat32.

i have been trying to solve this mystery for the last 5 days and finally got the solution. today this morning i tried the other tool based on linux to create multi boot and i just tried to install windows 8 installer greater then 4gb with that and i was astonished to see the result that it had made the usb perfectly with fat32. then i got an idea that if this can make it possible then why not sardu.

then again i added win 8 All-in One 4.37gb and win 7 3.83gb and started to create sardu. since win 7 All-in-one never create a problem but win 8 never shows all version. then i opened sardu installed usb and on the other hand i launched win 8 all in one iso and select all files and checked the properties and found that sardu is not being able to extract all the files from the source folder. then i experiment something and got the solution. i just manually copied all the source file from the source folder of the original iso file and copied all of them to source8 folder in the sardu usb and every thing just works fine.

Now i have a fat32 16gb usb with Antiviruses rescue disks, win xp installer, Win 7 All-in-one includes pro, home edition and ultimate x86,x64 bit version and windows 8 all in one which includes 8 different version of x86 and 8 different versions of x64.

So i confirmed it and 1000% sure that you can create usb with All in one ISO. Finally thanks to david for such a nice tool.

Mmmm, sardu delete the ei.cfg file, i think that the problem is this. Now i remove this deletion

the ei.cfg is renamed by SARDU as ei.cf_

aqkhan and davide, Both of your comments above sound very promising in getting to a general solution on this! If the problem is purely with the copying of the contents and the ie.cfg, then I may be able to get mine working with some manual tweeks. That would be great.

aqkhan, didn't you still run into an issue with the install.wim being larger than 4Gig? ..or was yours just smaller in the iso you were using? It sounds like you didn't have to do any splitting of the install.wim from the steps you mentioned you went through.

Thanks and can't wait to try this myself now. I know Davide is planning on a new release in the next few days and I hope this is included in the next release as well.

Well dear Schuc69, as i have mentioned in my post that i had successfully made sardu cd of Win8 All-in-one Iso. Size of that iso is around 4.37gb.
when sardu finished installing in your usb
just go to your usb and then manually copy all the file in to source8 folder from your original iso source folder and it starts copying few files and skip replacing of files already exist.
thats it. it works normally and i m using it and already installed win 8 from it and an xp to some one else pc.

i format my usb using RMprepusb and select Fat32.

Hope it would work fine for you also IN-SHA-ALLAH.

The limit of FAT32 is on a single file

In SARDU 2.0.5 if you build Eight you have to rename the file ei.cf_ to ei.cfg and all works fine without external tool. It's only a file renamed

I just got finished testing a new (and larger) Win7-AIO and Win8-AIO. For each of them, I
- removed the install.wim from the sources folder
- split the install.wim into 2G install[x].swm files
- added the *.swm files to the source folder in the .iso
- For Win8, I renamed ei.cf_ to ei.cfg on the USB after SARDU was complete

SARDU was able to create the usb, but when I boot from it and select either the Win7 or Win8 install, I get the same result which is still:

"A:\>c:\boot\barrosu.exe -inseven" or
"A:\>c:\boot\barrosu.exe -ineight"

and it just sits there.

I was really hoping this was going to do it. Not quite yet though.
