Yes, i mean SARDU 2.02 with the older syslinux3xx, change in SARDU.
In my test it is working without errors.
Important information: Don't change the SARDU screen or menu's when you want a fine working SARDU. 8-)

linuxbaby:
What version of 2.0.2 are you using? I just tested with 2.0.2c + syslinux3, but the same problem happened! SARDU didn't make the primary partition bootable so disk couldn't boot & when I manually made the partition bootable it goes straight to BCD2 menu & the SARDU menu [A/V, Linux, Utilities or XP never even show up].

davidecosta:
PuppyLinux 5.3 is not detected by SARDU, maybe its because the ISO naming has changed [slacko-5.3-MAIN.iso].

Sardu NEVER made active partitions. Old or new version. Why me and linuxbaby and other works fine? You tell that old version of SARDU works fine. You can tell me the number of version? You tried old version?

I made downloader for support the ISO. There is a thread when users can suggest that one iso is updated. There are suggestions? NO
Today i checked and there are 5 updates.
New puppy is slacks based...will never work if I don't upgrade SARDU....but....i need to check 5 isos not one. This is the reason why i don't adds the support to another ISOs

WRONG! linuxbaby mentioned it doesn't work for him if he uses any version other than 2.0.2! As mentioned in my previous post, I have tried with 2.0.2c but it failed, which is why I was asking linuxbaby which version of 2.0.2 he used [2.0.2, a, b or c]? Since it has been more than 3 or 4 months already that I don't have a SARDU installation disk, as I wasn't able to use 2.0.3 or 2.0.4, so I don't exactly remember which version exactly (its either 2.0.1 or 2.0.2, but then again 2.0.2 has 4 versions! 2.0.2, 2.0.2a, 2.0.2b & 2.0.2c).

Matter of fact now I remember, when you made 2.0.3 several months ago I had the exact same problem; after trying to solve it for almost 2 months I gave up & went back to 2.0.2 [again I don't remember exactly which version of 2.0.2 I used].

Anyway, I have successfully made a SARDU disk with 2.0.4, however I'm still running into 1 major problem & 1 minor one.

#1 major problem:
Vista Recovery Disk x64 doesn't boot & gives an error
*Widnows7 Recovery Disk x32 works fine!
Code: Select all
Status: 0xc000025

#2 minor problem:
Ubuntu has the wrong English locale; its set to locale=en_GB.UTF-8, it should be locale=en_US.UTF-8
*both Kaspersky Rescue CD & Ubuntu starts with English menu & text now, but Ubuntu is set to wrong English locale!

Thats fine if it doesn't work [as I'm still using Puppy 5.2.8] & thanks for the explanation. Since the puppy devs have changed the file name [from lupu*.iso to slacko*.iso] I thought this was responsible for SARDU not detecting the ISO & reported it to the forums so you can fix it [if you have time] before you finalize 2.0.4. Anyway, it doesn't matter if it works or not, as I'm still using 5.2.8.

Right now I am very happy that SARDU is working with XP & Win7 installation [after almost 3 to 4 months of unsuccessfully trying to make it work since version 2.0.3!] I will be even more happy if this small glitch with Vista Recovery Disk x32 is resolved & I have a fully working SARDU recovery disk again!

Well, last but not least thanks for all of your hard work david.

CRUD! 2.0.4 beta12 only detects 1 XP ISO? Example, it doesn't detect XP Home SP1, SP2 & SP3 anymore?

SARDU is divided into many script files. Now i,m not workink on section of Windows. I don't made changes in this sections.

For minor bug i changed for next version all languages to en_US.

Windows Vista Recovery: APPEND boot ntldr=/bootmgr
I don't understand why don't work. The voices of menu are the same of 32 bit versions? Your USB have more partitions?

Puppy is solved for next beta.

Davide, I've had issues building a recovery USB drive that will load WinXP and Win7 ISOs for mulitple installation options ewhen trying to build the disk with Beta 12. If I select the windows menu options, only XP installtion ISO shows up in the menu. I also have my win7 32 and 64bit recovery ISOs but no 32 and 64bit installation ISOs.

I really like your effort and the concept. I just finished downloading beta 13 and will try rebiluding with it to see if it works. I will update you once Im done. I would appriceatre any suggection you might have though.

OK I tried 13 and either that fixed my issue or I was not doing something right before. I now have a 16.5GB ISO file so I think that will include my win7AIO and some other isos that didn't seem to work before. I need to get a larger USB stick to put my new image on. I will update if it all seems to work now once I get it tested.

Hmmmmmm last night I had a 16.5 gig ISO build running and then my lappy rebooted on me.

Now I can't figure out what I did to make it that big. I am back to the 6.xx gig build. I even went and bought a 32G USB "Drive" to build my repair disk on. But for some reason I cant recreate the 16.5 gig ISO image that I know had all the missing ISOs that would not show up in the menu on selection of windows or some of the other menu choices.

Any Ideas?? I'm a total total newbie to Sardu but not to doing what I'm trying to do. I'm guessing its something I'm missing in the selection process. No shate Sherlock!! :o ;)
