Win 7 PE Wont Boot

Postby SonyUSA » July 28th, 2011, 5:39 pm

Hi. I'm using SARDU latest stable 2.0.3 (beta wont even boot to the menu for me)

I have a windows 7 PE that boots from flash drive OK, but when I put it into SARDU (put the files into iso and rename it Win7Recovery.iso) and load it, it copies the .wim properly but it doesn't boot, it just goes to a menu about

Usage: chain32.c32 hd<disk#> [<Partition>] [options]

etc.

Any suggestions?

Hi, did you change syslinux version? Did you do any kind of update after previous version of sardu?

You better format your (sardu)-disk and just do a fresh install.

This is the very first time I've used SARDU so I haven't updated anything and it was a clean USB stick :/

Can you please post the content of this file: [SARDU-disk]:\SARDU\pe.cfg ?

Open it with Notepad or Wordpad or any better text editor.

Okay, have a look at this section:

#boot di Win 7 PE
label Boot from Win 7 PE
menu label Boot from ^Win 7 PE
MENU INDENT 1
COM32 /chain.c32
APPEND boot ntldr=/bootmgr fs

Now edit the red colored line to this: APPEND boot 1 ntldr=/bootmgr
and reply if it works.

Now it says "cannot find boot sector"

should there be a 'fs' after the appended version of red text?

Nope nevermind, adding the fs returns the same syntax screen as before :/

NO, there mustn't be the fs option!

"cannot find boot sector"? There is a file called bootmgr in the root of your SARDU stick, right?
