Trinity Rescue Kit/DSL issue

Postby TechieRefugee » March 14th, 2011, 9:54 pm

Welp, it's that time again. The reason why I merged these two together is because I just recently installed both of these onto my usb, and they both have the same issue. When I go to initiate them from the menu, they get to their respective menus, and after selecting a boot option for both of them, they merely go to a black screen. No other distros that I've got installed give me that problem. I've done a little checking in the .cfg files, just to see if it's another Puppy Linux issue, but I can't find anything too glaringly obvious. Any ideas?

Downloaded the TRK from the website, v3.4 build 367. As for DSL, I downloaded it from that exact link; the same ISO, too. And no, I haven't changed any labels on the drive.

I picked up another thumb drive recently; tried redownloading SARDU, tried redownloading TRK and DSL from your links, and still they doesn't work. If I am to be more specific, what I have been doing is selecting them from the SARDU menu, and for DSL I select the option "dsl" when I get to the blue/white menu. For TRK, I select the very first option. TRK loads the vmlinuz file, and then goes to a black screen. For DSL, after I select the boot option, the cursor flashes, and then it goes to the black screen, from which in both cases I have to manually power off.

Huh, it must have been that one computer. Do you know of any reasons why DSL or TRK won't load on a given computer? Or is it just an overall incompatibility?
