Sardu PXE Boot

Postby BlackHell » March 10th, 2011, 7:16 pm

After seeing that Sardu puts all files out of the iso on my usb hdd and starts with syslinux i thought that this should work also as pxe boot.
So i put it in the /var/lib/tftpboot/sardu folder and changed all cfg files to have the new start sardu/. It worked perfectly with my extra Acronis True Image Home 11 (not 2011, because i didn't bought it.).
Problems are with the Windows Live CDs. They won't boot. The Linux Live CDs are a bit better. I tried Ubuntu Live CD and it started but run into busybox.
I know i can boot iso now with memdisk but it's better not to boot the iso alone over the network if you have a 4,7GB DVD and your PC has only 2 GB RAM :)
I'm going to test the rest and to tell you my solution if i can find one :D

After changing the path to the sardu folder following things happend:
Tools: all, but SuperGrubDisk 2 worked. SuperGrubDisk 2 booted, but didn't work correct.
Antivirus: AOSS detected hardware and said initialization complete but made a reboot.
AVG After changing the AVG.cfg it worked perfect
Avira booted but said that the file self check failed
BitDefender boots but stays in showing the bitdefender logo

more to come

Hello,I would like to ask if you have any progress on booting sardu iso over pxe,and also how did you change the config files to get it working. So far i can boot into menu, dsl, puppy, ubuntu, but just to very early stage when it says:knoppix filesystem not found(for dsl) and drops to busybox.BitDefender also cannot pass logo and I don't know how to enable extra verbose output from it.As for windows,i get for xp pro clean:txtsetup.sif corrupted or missing, status 14,googled around but can't seem to find a suitable answer
