Dear David
SARDU is a fantastic idea. Could the builds ( .ISOs ) be grouped by functions ?
They are by tabs, but each tab is less than 4.7GB disc presently ..
Eg.
1x for AntiVirus ( cross-platform );
1x for Rescue Discs ( specific to the Win_x platform ) in both 32-bit & 64-bit versions;
1x RDs, for the Linux platforms - in both 32-bit & 64-bit versions; ( eg. UBUNTU Rescue discs; Fedora RDs; Linux Mint RDs; Open SUSE RDs; etc. )
1x for Forensics ( windows platform - 32-bit & 64-bit versions );
1x for Forensics ( Linux platforms - 32-bit & 64-bit versions );
1x for Diags/SysAdmins ( cross-platform ) - eg, password reset; offline defrag; Acronis/Western Digital free version restoreof backup;
1x for Housekeeping/Maintenance ( TestDisk; PlopBoot; MemTest; Boot-sector Correction; Partition Recovery; Boot sector save & recover etc. )
I'd really like to see SARDU tweaked slightly, to accommodate several successive .ISO builds, each one specific to a particular category of Troubleshooting that routinely needs performing on the boxes there are to maintain, service, de-clutter, organize, & do disaster-recovery on, via single-layer DVD
SARDU is currently tailored towards USB Flash-Drive builds, but could easily help produce a complete set of Master DVDs, with just a few carefully-organized strategic changes
SARDU builders could further tailor thee builds, downloading their choice of version of the distros, if the distro name picked up by SARDU, were left generic, rather than specific ( eg. Nimble*.iso, rather than Nimble2008.iso )
We cannot edit the source code ourselves, to implement the above change, as you very reasonably reserve that for yourself. But these few minor changes would help render SARDU that much more usable, as a preparation tool, for those tasks we all have to perform, on behalf of our user clientele ................
All the best,
Les
