SARDU 2.0.3

Postby shafferCsmith » June 19th, 2011, 11:15 pm

1] Parted Magic 6.2 doesn't work.

2] MS Standalone Sweeper loads background wallpaper then errors out & doesn't load the scanner. However it loads up fine when booting from the ISO in VBox.

3] Menu Multi PE>2 still doesn't load the PE Menu. I have Vista/Win7 Recovery CD x32 & x64 plus Win7 AiO install CD.

There are a thread of SARDU 2.0.3 Why open a new thread? This make only shambles.
There are rules for report error

You use ISO or USB?

1) The direct download of SARDU download the version 6.1 that was latest version when I released 2.0.3. The version 6.1 works fine?
btw fixed in next beta version.
You can edit the files pmagic.cfg and pmagic_.cfg . See below
Code: Select all
COM32 linux.c32   #<------- OLD
COM32 /pmagic/linux.c32 #<------- NEW

2) You have in the root of USB this file: mpam-fe.exe . (32 bit version) My test works fine
If you use the x64 version i found the error. Copy handly the file mpam-fex64.exe to root of USB

3) i can'help you. I don't know as has been done the AIO, which recovery uses. if the BCD file isn't standard it does not work

You created that thread, to announce the release of SARDU 2.0.3! I am reporting an error with 2.0.3! See the difference?
I could've named the thread more appropriately, but I couldn't edit it afterwards! So why don't you rename this thread to something like: Several problems with SARDU 2.0.3

You use ISO or USB?

USB, always!

Yeah PM 6.1 worked with SARDU 2.0.3; only PM 6.2 doesn't work with it. But the solution you provided above worked & it is easy. Thanks.

I have to copy the virus definition update files [mpam-fe.exe & mpam-fex64.exe] to the root? Why? these files are already present in the root of the ISO!

SARDU_USB
+---MSSS_Media32.iso
| +---mpam-fe.exe

What do you mean by standard BCD? I used Windows 7 ISO's from Microsoft MSDN site & just added all the installation files from the x64 ISO into x32 ISO. This 7 AiO ISO worked with earlier versions [2.0.2a or maybe B?] of SARDU.

Also all the Vista & Win7 recovery ISO are from your site here: http://www.sarducd.it/windowspe.html [WinVistaRD & Win7RD]. These files also worked previously when I made SARDU USB disk with 2.0.2a/b [or maybe it was 2.0.1].

This is the error I get when making Win7 AiO, Vista or Win7 RD disks.
Code: Select all

The BCD is corrupt.
I did not made changes to the installer, only removed the possibility of having both Vista that Seven in the some media , this will not work together.

No, it is not! ISO matches original MD5 hash made last year! Also the ISO's themselves work, both in VBx & in real computers.

All the Vista/Win7 RD & Win7 AiO install ISO's worked the last time I made a SARDU USB drive, but I forget what version of SARDU I used last time. Do you still have SARDU 2.0.1 & 2.0.2 [no a/b/c]? If you do, can you send them to me? I think one of those versions will work!

Thanks.

Thanks. Its a good thing that you don't remove old versions of SARDU from your website.

It looks like SARDU 2.0.3 = BIG FAIL! SARDU 2.0.4 beta3 = [almost] BIG WIN!

[using USB HDD + VBx & real compuer;] Vista RD x32+64, Win7 RD x32+64 & Win7 install AiO.

SARDU_x32 2.0.3 + AntiVirus + WinXP = FAIL! Multiple errors when making USB disk.
error1: bcdedit not found
error2: BCD error when making USB disk:
Code: Select all
The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
The system has attempted to load or restore a file into the registry, but the specified file is not in a registry file format.
error3: Menu PE> 2 in SARDU doesn't work.

SARDU_x32 2.0.3 + NO AntiVirus + WinXP = FAIL! Same multiple errors as above.

SARDU_x32 2.0.3 + AntiVirus + Win7 = FAIL! Menu PE> 2 in SARDU doesn't work.

SARDU_x32 2.0.3 + NO AntiVirus + Win7 = FAIL! Menu PE> 2 in SARDU doesn't work.

SARDU_x64 2.0.4 + NO AntiVirus + WinXP = FAIL! BCD error when making USB disk.

SARDU_x64 2.0.4 + AntiVirus + Win7 = WIN! Menu PE> 2 in SARDU works!

PE>2 menu & BCD errors are finally solved [after almost a month of agonizing testings!]; it was all caused by SARDU 2.0.3, but finally solved by 2.0.4 beta3! Oh also, you might want to make a note on your website that SARDU cannot make PE> 2 menu/disk when running from WinXP, it only works if running in Vista/Win7!

I don't know what broke with 2.0.3 [with x32 exe & in WinXP] & sure don't know what you fixed in 2.0.4, but thank you very much for finally fixing it!

However now there is a new problem with 2.0.4 beta3, all the XP ISO boot files are missing!

Code: Select all
Booting First part of Windows XP Home setup from partition 0

map --mem (hd0,0)/WINSETUP/XPhSP3.iso (0xff)

Error 15: File not found

SARDU_USB
+---WINSETUP
| +---Only grub.exe & *.lst files are present, ALL ISO FILES ARE MISSING!

P.S. I haven't tested MSSS x32/x64 yet, but I will in the next few days.

Make a test:
Format your USB
Make a scandisk of disk when you have SARDU.
I had this problem before

As the problem is no longer related to 2.0.3, but rather 2.0.4, lets continue in the appropriate thread 2.0.4 beta[x]problems...

Thanks.
