Problem with DSL

Postby deceiving.eyes » July 17th, 2011, 5:00 pm

last nyt i wrote my first multiboot dvd using Sardu and all 9 OS worked fine except DSl. When i choose Damn Small Linux from menu, no matter which option i choose from the submenu, i get this error, "KNOPPIX filesystem not found, Dropping you to a very limited shell."
Just now i tried to make a sardu ISO with only DSl and Moba Live CD to check it. Again same problem.
Then i just tried DSL with Moba Live CD and surprise!!! it worked fine.
What I noticed is , when i run DSL singularly using Moba Live CD, in the Isolinux folder under the ISO folder, a new folder is created named Knoppix. In this folder a new file i can see named KNOPPIX_DSL with a file size of approximately 48 mb.

Please have a look at this issue Davide. You sir, do rock.

best regards

hello
did you try the ISO directly with Moba? Or You made a sardu ISO with this ISO n tried the sardu ISO? Just wish to confirm it as the ISO i have of DSL works fine alone. Just stops working after i use it n make a sardu ISO.

wow!!!
however weird it may sound!!!
for some reason, the name of the DSL iso was dsl-4.4.10-initrd in my HDD. when i redownloaded from the new link the ISO was named dsl-4.4.10 and it worked fine. Looking at both the ISOs i guessed they were same and, i renamed my older ISO of DSL to dsl-4.4.10 and it worked too!!!
the "-initrd" part of the ISO name created all the problems.
anyways problemo solved now.

best regards as usual to Davide Costa.
