Sorry, typo!

Corrected: ... Maybe APPEND boot ntldr=/bootmgr fs is the problem in previous releases. ...

syslinux 3.x? Uh, thats what i totally forgot...

And... it works actually!:D

But it's not working on syslinux 4.x. Just with option line APPEND fs ntldr=/bootmgr This "fs" option is NEW in syslinux 4.x as syslinux 3.x does not recognise it. Thats the fault!

To sum up:

Syslinux 3.x ---> APPEND boot [partition number*] ntldr=/bootmgr
*optional, but better in case of plain "boot" doesn't work

Syslinux 4.x ---> APPEND fs ntldr=/bootmgr

hmm..

Another way is to force sardu installation into partition one (it's the most common, anyway) and always using this:

APPEND boot 1 ntldr=/bootmgr

But maybe the "fs" option isnt the cause of your problem.

SARDU 2.0.4 beta 5 + USB + VBox & real computer:
1] EXTRA menu works, but now its missing the back menu (TOP) item!
2] XP install still doesn't work with SARDU!
3] Windows 7 install works!

I reported the XP installation problem in detail in my earlier post ...
shafferCsmith wrote:SARDU 2.0.4 beta4 + USB HDD + VBox & real computer

1] EXTRA menu works!

2] XP install doesn't work, as I have reported several times here make multi windows installer problem & here 2.0.4 beta[x] problems....

When trying to run XP installation I even get the same error [on SARDU USB disk there is no ISO files in the WINSETUP directory] :
Code: Select all
Booting First part of Windows XP Home setup from partition 0

map --mem (hd0,0)/WINSETUP/XPhSP3.iso (0xff)

Error 15: File not found

3] Windows 7 install also doesn't work, which I reported previously too. This problem has also been reported by gorski & m37r0.

I even get the same error!
Code: Select all
File: \Boot\BCD

Status: 0xc0000225

Info: An error occured while attempting to read the boot configuration data.

Both XP & Win7 install ISO works in VBox. They also work when burned to CD/DVD's & booted in a real computer. Also both installation images worked with older versions of SARDU 2.0.1/2.0.2.
