Alright, first of all, double clicking on one of the packages seems to download that package, however, that iso isn't put into the designated folder, ever. I figured out that I needed to manually download the .iso files for the different packages, and placed them in the designated folder, then I was able to check mark the packages for install or leave them blank. This is the small problem, easy to get around, but why offer the option to auto-download the package if it's not going to put the iso into the right folder once done downloading?
OK, now on to the big problem. After I select the packages I want in my CD, I burn the iso to cd. Boot from the CD, and I get the SARDU menu. When I click on one of the options, it goes to a black screen and displays only "boot:"
Is it supposed to work like this? Am I supposed to input something? Shouldn't another menu come up? This doesn't seem very "GUI-Friendly" I'll call it. This can't be the normal operation of a properly functioning SARDU disk, correct? What am I doing wrong?
What's the difference between "enabled Extra" and "disabled Extra"? "Update only SARDU's menu"?
Okay, and lastly, once you have your packages selected, it gives you a size of how big the .iso is going to be. The problem is that this number is not always accurate. I had a selection that said something like 656MB, and I was burning to a CD, so I figured I should leave it at that, and create the iso. Turns out the iso was 486MB. So brilliant me, I try adding more packages, and amazingly, sometimes they come out bigger than estimated. Is this a known error? Is it to be expected?
Alright, there's all my issues, but mainly I'm just worried about how to get the damn thing to work. For computers with DVDs, SARDU could be a truly awesome tool to have in your CD Case! That is if we can get past the "boot:" problem. Some help there guys?
Thanks,
J
