Kon-boot with Sardu

Postby fructis » March 14th, 2012, 10:18 am

Hello,

I'm trying SARDU (great job in passing ! ) with Kon-boot V2.0 , but it does not work. I tried taking my inspiration of this thread (http://reboot.pro/11842/) but apparently, SARDU changed since. For exemple, when the autor said " 2)Then added reference in utility.cfg ("SARDU Drive":\menu\utility.cfg) " , the utility.cfg is not in the file menu (it doesn't exist...). So i'have tried in writting this code in extra.cfg and with the konboot.img but without success..

Thanks for your helps

Yes, but that don't work...Konn boot appear in the menu but when i click on, nothing happens...

When i put in usb without SARDU (there is a script made by the editor of Kon boot for this) , there is 3 files on the usb key :

- menu.st
- konboot.img
- grldr

Maybe the grldr is the missing link for this to work with sardu ? If you need, i can give you an archive of kon boot ;)

copy menu.lst (grub) in the root of SARDU and load this menu using extra options
put konboot.img in the root of SARDU

That's work, so i explain quicly how :

- You must have a boot/grub.exe to your USB KEY. If not, you can make it with an additonal iso with Sardu who create this files.
- Next, edit Sardu/utiliti.cfg and add

Code: Select all
label Boot from KonBoot
Menu label Boot from ^KonBoot
MENU INDENT 1
LINUX /boot/grub.exe
append /menu.lst

Finally, copy menu.lst and konboot.img in the root of your USB KEY.

Thanks for your help davide

Following your instructions i run Kon-Boot in a SARDU usb.
How can i create a bootable SARDU iso cd with Kon-Boot included in SARDU cd?
Thank you.

I can not apply the same method for an iso because it is different from the usb function.
Here is what i mean. When a SARDU usb is created i can afterwards edit the Sardu/utiliti.cfg
and copy menu.lst and konboot.img in the root of the USB KEY while it still remains bootable.
On the other hand, when a SARDU iso is created, i can not edit or copy any files in the iso.

I followed this method but it didn't work.
1. Created a SARDU iso with all the desirable software included.
2. Extracted the iso in a folder.
3. Edit and copy the Kon-Boot files in this folder.
4. Recreated the iso from the folder's files.
Result: The new iso is no longer bootable.

Any thoughts ?

Open the ISO with ultraiso
copy all files and the menu and save the ISO
