Issue with Austrumi Linux

Postby TechieRefugee » February 9th, 2012, 3:25 am

Hey, I've been trying to update my Austrumi to 2.4.8 from 2.3.whatever, and during the ISO decompression, it throws an error saying "7zip cannot access the ISO". I have also tried using 7zip on its own; still nothing. I understand that this is nothing that you have control over, but I was wondering if you could toss an idea my way as to how I could access the ISO. Thanks.

I have checked MD5s, and those aren't the problem. I've even tried hopping the 7zip modules from a previous version that did work for me. (That version didn't work for the install either.)
The particular error that it is giving me is that it "Cannot open file as an archive." I have tried 2.4.8 and 2.4.5 with a freshly downloaded SARDU, and it still gives me that error.

i don't undestand, you have one iso or one zip?
Make a test: use the downloader of SARDU with 2.4.5 version and try if it works fine

I should have clarified more. The 7zip modules that I was talking about was with SARDU, as I had noticed that 2.0.2c (the version that I had initially installed Austrumi with) had a more up-to-date 7zip than 2.0.4.3. But, I do have an ISO, and I will try the downloader some time later.

All clicking on the Austrumi button under the Linux tab does is link me to the forum where I downloaded the ISOs in the first place.

That's okay, man! The problem's probably on their end anyways. You're already doing more than you need to.

Bit of an update. The idea hit me overnight (like all good ideas do with everybody), and I tried WinRAR. WinRAR was able to unpackage the iso easily. I then recompressed the ISO and it worked perfectly. Even version 2.4.8. :D
