Hirens and UBCD boot problem

Postby narcotico » November 1st, 2011, 1:02 am

Hello.

First, thank you for this software. I am probing it to make my custom DVDs.

I've used the last beta and the stable version (2.0.3 and 2.0.4beta12).

With Hirens:

With UBCD:

ISOs directory to view the versions:

With hirens, the problem is boot the main menu (the mini xp works fine, although it's less important for me). I read in other post that this mini xp is not legal, Sardu could delete this option to be legal. It's very important hirens for many people. I don't understand this issue very well, if windows 7 install is legal, why not hirens? It's simple curiosity.

Opinion: I like the sofware and I understand that its completely impossible that support all versions, all boot cds, etc. But I think that it won't be difficult to support iso depending of the boot loader that the iso use to boot (only I think). To be easier understand me, for example this options:
- Add new iso based in isolinux.
- Add new iso based in syslinux.
- Add new iso based in bcdw.
- etc.
There are a lot of versions of linux (live and install) that boots in the same manner.
Think about it and If you need help, ask me. If I can, without problem. If there are so much differences, apology me.

It would be interesting that Sardu could support the 2 versions of Ophcrack (xp and vista).

Sorry for my bad english.

Hi,
Do you use UBCD version?
Hiren's version?

Your test is build one dvd with only these ISOs?

I tried Hiren's 15 and i see the menu. You talk about "Dos Programs" Let me know
Found the error with UBCD but the iso was corrupted. Check your iso

Supports more ISOs isn't very simple, in future i will can support linux live "like" ubuntu that use the same system of boot...
Ophcrack works with tables

You can make one folder (into iso folder) named tables
put all tables into this folder

SARDU will import the tables

XP SARDU support one version for type of XP, SP1, SP2, SP3 Home, Professional and 64bit
SARDU can't support more vista (only one file SOURCES\install.wim hard coded)

UBCD is version 5.1.1 like you can see in the pic.

Hirens is not corrupt (it looks work fine with the first option in "Extra" menu - Add iso with grub). The version that I use is 9.5 because some ghost images made with it doesn't restore with other versions. I'll check this spending more time and If it works fine I tell you for other people.

I checked other iso too, ACM Boot Admin with this option and it looks work fine too. Thank you. The options in Extra menu in the new version is perfect (yesterday I don't know about it because I spend more time with 2.0.3 version).

With Ophcrack I'll try that, may be that it sardu is doing that automatic? It detects and process both versions if I have in the same directory.

At the moment, the only problem is with UBCD5.1.1 version. Maybe for the version number, If yes, could you tell me one that works fine.

Thank you.

Kind regards.

My test are with UBCD 5.1.1 and boot fine. You checked the hash?
Hiren's works fine with last version
Version 2.0.3 is very old...but i've not feedback to release 2.0.4 stable

Ophcrack: the structure is the same. You can put both Vista or XP or use the folder named tables. The result is the same.

If you check i release last beta.
