Cant boot MS Standalone Sweeper 64-bit, but only on real PC

Postby Dave968 » June 19th, 2011, 4:29 pm

SARDU 2.0.3
DVD-Boot

I can not boot Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper 64-bit on my real PC (Dell Laptop). SARDU boots fine to the SARDU menu. When I select to boot the MS System Sweeper 64, it stops on a GRUB 0.4.4 screen with a “grub>” prompt. I don’t know what to type at this prompt to boot the MS Sweeper.
I tried to boot the same SARDU DVD in a virtual machine (VMWare). On the very 1st boot, it stopped on a Microsoft boot loader screen, asking me to run an MS OS installer. I chose the only selection on the menu. It say something about a Microsoft installer, and then it booted into the MS System Sweeper just fine. Since then every boot from the same DVD into the same virtual machine works great. It boots directly into the MS System Sweeper without stopping on the Microsoft installer screen (I can’t recall exactly what it said because I only saw it once). So, the SARDU boot DVD is ok.

Why won’t my Dell PC boot into MS System Sweeper 64-bit from the same SARDU DVD boot menu?

What does it mean when a Windows iso boot stops at:

grub>

?
