Cannot run Windows XP x64 - NTDETECT Failed [SOLVED]

Postby Smart Guy » October 26th, 2011, 7:57 am

Hi! I'm sorry for my english, but i have a problem!

So, i try to put together 2 Win install - Windows XP SP3 (x86) and Windows XP SP2 (x64).

When i try to boot, x86 works fine, but x64, after title Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration i got an error - NTDETECT Failed

Hmmmm, if create an ISO or USB only with x64 it's ok, no errors.

This is the variants of my boot and results:

Win 7 + Win x86 = both ok
Win 7 + Win x64 = NTDETECT Failed (x64)
Win x86 + Win x64 = NTDETECT Failed (x64)

Only x86 = Ok
Only x64 = Ok
Only Win 7 = Ok

Any suggestions?

Thank You!

I tried xp64 (not sp2) with seven and boot fine. I don't undestrand why not works with seven. XP and seve are completely different, they haven't shared files.
