Bug: Save List filename

Postby BCITMike » August 8th, 2012, 7:46 am

Davide asks for a list of the ISO's selected for troubleshooting a problem. I went looking in the menu to see if there was such an option to easily export. I saw "Downloader->Save List". I clicked on this, and was prompted with a name to save. I saved it to something custom, like "mylist.ini". File did not appear. I did it again, this time with "abc.ini", and again, it didn't appear.

Windows 7 x64.
Sardu 2.0.5.

I was going to attach screenshot, but I see this forum doesn't support that (fix that?). Plus, this is very easy to reproduce and see.

Let me know if you need more details.

The Download --> Save List is made for save and load a list of files to download at a later time.

At this moment isn't supported one list for the ISO selected

But did you understand the BUG? It prompts you to save the list with a custom name, says that it saved the file, but that file never gets made. If you don't have control over the filename, just save it and don't prompt.

Now i made this test:

    selected one download
    Save the list of download
    Exit from SARDU
    Start SARDU
    Load the list
Start the downloader and works fine

If you see one bug tell me your test

See here first:

See here after:

If you still do not see what I'm saying, that is fine. It's not hurting me and I thought I was helping. I was just able to make a custom USB key with the 3 ISO's that I wanted (Acronis, Paragon and OCZ FW Updater) using Xboot in literally, less than 5 minutes and without help or instructions. Without the custom ISO option using emulated grub4dos, I don't see Sardu CD gaining popularity over the other tools I'm afraid. :?

Bingo. That was it. To reproduce the "issue", I was always restarting the app without having added anything to the download list. Once I added UBCD, I could make the file "test.ini" successfully.

So I would add a test like:
Code: Select all
if (download_list)
      save file
      print "Saved file as ..."

else print "Nothing in the download list"
