Windows Recovery Disks' (Vista, 7 etc.) menus aren't showing

Postby roadran422 » June 23rd, 2013, 12:57 am

I see the files for the discs, but I can't see the entry in the main syslinux.cfg file. I am running the latest version, 2.0.6.5, and I am also running the live disks off an NTFS partition.

please clarify on what device you ask? Thanks.

I use both file systems on my computer. The USB stick is MBR/FAT32. I had enable NTFS and not enable NTFS (if that relates to your question. and when I remember right the problem described in this thread is on both. The ISO are perhaps NTFS since they are from Microsoft.

I don't really understand all of your few words, but I try to report again, since it seems that "recovery disk does not show in the menu, altough it was added" was not understandable.

The example goes a follows:
The USB stick is FAT32. I checked the box for NTFS enabled.
I did not do anything to AOSS, because I do not even know what this is.
I did nothing to Seven Recovery Disk, taking the jargon "Seven Recovery Disk" litteraly. I did however put a proper Windows 7 64 bit recovery disk, with the proper name Windows_7_64-bit_Recovery_Disc.iso, into ISO folder, and let checked the check mark checked.
I did add thre ISO Extra (grub) ISO images. Two are emergency disks WinPE-based, the third is Kasperski rescue disc, unknown on what based.
I clicked the USB stick symbol.
I chose from the menu the USB update menu only command (wording not litterally, but in this sense).
I put the computer to boot from the USB stick.

There was no Windows 7 64 bit recovery menu point available. There were the thre Extra items available.

There was no error message. The error is however, that: "recovery disk does not show in the menu, altough it was checked and added and present on the USB stick and is even present in some .ini files". Exact name of said .ini is not available to me right now.

The discs are in some .ini, but don't make it into the menu.

Sardu 2.0.6.5
NTFS
Visa 32 and 64 Bit Recovery
Windows 7 32 and 64 Bit Recovery

I tried installing both on to my WD My Passport USB-HD, and it wouldn't show up in my menu and also the barrosu is enabled but I didn't see it in the boot folder. After I partitioned my hard drive (fat32 1st partition in the front, 2nd partition NTFS 3rd partition WBFS(For Wii :P)) and installed the recovery disks on the 1st partition, it worked.
