Windows 7 and Windows 8 Problem

Postby ba81 » April 30th, 2013, 10:05 pm

Hello I am new to this forum and I just started using the Sardu 2.0.6.5 tool. I posted this same message in the wrong thread but couldn't take it out.

First of all I would like to thank you for the tool.
I am trying to create a Multiboot USB with Windows XP SP3, Windows 7 Ultimate, and Windows 8. After I create the Multiboot USB and try to run it i get this error for Windows 7 and Windows 8 “Failure restore ROM INT 0x0A vector. Unsupported DOS, device driver, or TSR”. I even tried Windows XP and Windows 7 and I get the same error. I dont get the error for windows XP, only for Windows 7 and windows 8. I tried burning the ISOs on DVDs and they work fine. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. Not sure if it has something to do with GRUB4DOS. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

You can have Windows seven and eight only with USB.
Your error is due to grub4dos (grub.exe), can you try to update them?

I tried using the old grug4dos and got the same error. I'll try updating it, are there instructions on how to update it? i looked at that link and it just has the files. do i just replace the grub.exe file or have to do more? thanks for your help.

I tried replacing the grub.exe file with the new one but that gave me the same error. i even tried to enable "extra menu" and added the grub.exe file in the extra folder and created a menu.lst file.. can someone please help me out with this issue.. i've tried so many things and nothing seems to be working.

I tried more stuff and here is where i am now.
I updated my windows PE and now I can run windows 7 setup on my PC but not on my laptop. However I do get a different error now, it says something like unload driver or TRR. Does anyone know what that mean?

ok. just read about a bootmgr. I guess it could be the problem but i'm not sure. i can boot using a DVD on that same laptop. i also tried a different tool to load windows 7 setup from a usb drive and that works on that same laptop. i really like the options SARDU has to offer which is why i want to get that working. let me know if you think it could be something else or have any suggestions. thanks for your help.

Your test is obly with one installer, the bootmgr that use your SARDU can be on other bootmgr (of PE pr other)
Try to put the bootmgr of your installer in the USB and let me know
