Win 8.1 64 bit not detecting usb ssd

Postby maboh » January 14th, 2015, 6:20 pm

Hey guys

I am stumbling over a serioous problem. After updating all my devices to win8.1 64 bit my Sardu will not detect my
freecom ssd device anymore. Windows is just detecting it fine, as well as Sardu worked with all my Windows 7 64 bit
Installations. I am using the latest build of Sardu (3 beta 9) and had a working setup on my very same Laptop with
Win7. After upgrading to Win 8.1 my ssd is not detected anymore.

The device is formatted in NTFS as I am running Virtualbox PCs on it, in Sardu detect harddisks is enabled, NTFS Support
is enabled.

Again: if I bring the same Installation to a Win7 Computer, it is running all fine.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Martin

Just to add:

Yes, the ssd is known to Win8.1 as removable storage, as it displays the "remove safely" button.
Yes, I tried to format it with RMPrepUSB - several times.

This must be something in the way Sardu gets informations from the operating system. There
surely is a difference between Win8 and Win7. Any chance this can be reviewed? I dont want to
stop using Sardu and I dont want to miss my mini ssd 128GB drive where all the stuff is located
I need every day. :geek:
So please tell me there is a way we get this working again :P

Have you tried using different hard drives, perhaps your model isn't compatible or requires a new firmware update?
