Strange booting behaviour on a LaCie itsakey usb stick

Postby massimoap » March 25th, 2013, 9:43 pm

Hi, Ive been trying to make a Lacie itsakey USB flash drive 8gb bootable on an Asus striker extreme motherboard and it was impossible for me to make the PC boot from the USB. In the boot sequence menu, the usb was under the category removable device. I had legacy enabled, I was setting the removable as boot prio, and from removable menu the exact usb. When the computer was on I couldnt boot. The message was taht couldnt find UI or something. The same if I was usin the F8 boot menu.
After 3-4 hours of frustration, I decided to use another usb flash drive (Silicone Power). This time the USB drive was in the Hard Disk menu of the BIOS set up and into the Removable devices there was nothing. I set the booting order on HD 1st, then in HD menu the drive 1st and the PC was bootable from the USB at once.
Do u know why the 2 usb flash drives have this different bhaviour? can I make the Lacie one to boot also?
