Sardu n00b trying to add opensuse live

Postby Ecky » June 27th, 2013, 10:48 pm

First attempt at using Sardu here, great tool

I've been trying to add opensuse live to a sardu usb I'm creating with no luck, I've tried using the various options on the 'Extra' menu, Add Extra Iso (Grub) etc and every time I get a boot error stating that the mbr cannot be found

I'm guessing I need to do some menu editing but I don't really know how to go about it, I've been a linux user for a number of years but always used grub rather than syslinux on my systems so I'm not completely clueless, just pretty clueless about syslinux and completely clueless about Sardu

Can anyone point me in the right direction towards troubleshooting this?

There is one thing I can see that might be contributing to the problem and that's the location of opensuse live's own syslinux.cfg which is found at: /boot/x86_64/loader/syslinux.cfg, but I'm not sure if that really matters as the opensuse live system starts booting after showing me it's menu, but as I said, it doesn't seem to know where to look for the mbr

Thanks for the reply davidecosta

Good news that you're planning to add opensuse support, I'll look forward to that

I have a 'custom' version of opensuse I made on Suse Studio that I was hoping to get working, was trying it with an 'official' live opensuse first, are there no changes I can make to attempt having a sardu usb drive boot opensuse live?

If not I'll just have to keep my out for a later version with suse support

I think to release a new version of SARDU in a few months. I know that new version will be even better, will be easily upgradeable ...
