Sardu fails extracting ISO's

Postby BCITMike » August 8th, 2012, 9:01 am

Windows 7 x64
Sardu 2.0.5

I was able to make a USB flash the other day with nearly all my tools. When I realized my custom stuff wasn't added, I went to go add the custom stuff, and then "update USB" through the menu. That didn't "update" it, it made the whole damn thing again, except for not successfully. I would stop Sardu after it was saying it was extracting the same thing for long time or overnight (whole process took me 1 hour to begin with so I knew it was stuck). I'd de-select the one stuck extracting, but then another one would fail.

I just did it again, and its stuck doing something Vista PE related, WHEN I NEVER HAD VISTA PE SELECTED TO BEGIN WITH. Look in the screenshot in the zip file to see how its greyed out Vista and never processed Windows 7 installer. The end of the log is the end of what is still showing in Sardu, so once it got there, program basically stuck in loop without giving error or progressing.

Code: Select all
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows 7  : InstallWin7x64_unattendedapps.iso
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vista PE : InstallWin7x64_unattendedapps.iso
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vista PE : InstallWin7x64_unattendedapps.iso

Vista PE is not enabled as you can see from screenshot. Let me know if you need anything else.

p.s. What does "Make Log" button do? If its supposed to save the log window to a log file, thats either not working, or its not working once this part of the bug is reached, as it does nothing obvious to me.

Having pretty much the same problem I think, though I've not check the log file. I don't know if Vista and & work on the same drive in this update, but I was avoiding it anyway and making two sticks, the seven and everything else one works fine, well, some of the hirens utilities don't work properly, but that's another issue for another day.

The Vista stick I am trying to make just won't work, it gets to extracting/unpacking the Vista iso and the program just crashes with no errors and the stick doesn't work. I have been trying combinations of leaving out all the 7 recovery discs and pe and that, but still no joy. I have only tried making it on my xp machine though. The iso is slightly customised, apparently that can sometimes make a difference it only has an add oem logo option added to a late part of the install. Trouble is i cant find a clean copy of vista oem anywhere, unless im being dumb and all the ones labelled ultimate x86 and that are actually all in ones with 64 and 32 on.

Sorry if this is totally the wrong thread, just i was hunting for my issue and this seemed the closest and most recent thread

Yea, I don't know what I did to get around this bug. reboot pc? Uncheck some iso's? I don't know, but I did get past this, probably when I de-selected the Windows installers since I learned it wouldn't work with unattended file and so it not a windows installation solution for me.
