SARDU dead?

Postby SarduUser » March 2nd, 2015, 8:58 pm

I guess the SARDU project is dead. Beta 9 does not work and there has not been any info about a new version. I will look for another alternative.

Hello,

SARDU is NOT dead. SARDU is a long process of work. ;)

SARDU 3 is in BETA Status and the Developer is tired. Also tired for this forum and tired to explain people like you the importance of constructive contributions to the development for SARDU.

SARDU requires much in Time and Money. Mr. Costa do another Job in his real life. To many Users like you are unfortunately not willing to understand this situation. To many Users like you are not willing to understand, how much are more then 10.000 lines of coding and how much work is it, to developing a new SARDU from scratch. :?

You are free in every time to use another software like SARDU :D .
Better: Please develop a own Software to know right, how many years, Months, Days and Nights and Money you need for this.

As a (former) coder myself, I can attest to the fact that any project that is non-trivial will take several man-years of effort, often in multiple languages; whether that is measured in weeks, months or years depends partly on the number of developers and partly on the complexity of the project. :geek:

SARDU is an excellent program, and yet... with the capability (in GRUB 2.x) to run directly from ISOs, I rather wonder if that could simplify the process...since one would not need to unpack the ISOs to make things work. :!:

There are alternatives. However, SARDU seems to be the most complete of the batch, and 2.x.x still works for most people. That's why Davide advised not to delete the older version.
