Persistence?

Postby enotar » June 20th, 2014, 6:44 pm

I just got Sardu this week and I am still testing it.
It is a great piece of software but I have one problem
I set Linux Ubuntu 14.04 as one of the OS in my USB as describe in installation
I boot from USB and answer that I want to test Ubuntu not install
All goes well and fast .......(Surprise)
I set my Wifi Key and surf the web with no issue
After that I power off and reboot one more time from the USB
Ubuntu launch correctly and one more time I ask to try Ubuntu not install.
At this moment the Wifi key is lost, I have to reenter it.
Is there a problem with persistence?
The USB drive is for running multiple OS from it, not installing these or I am wrong, every session should have persistence or I still wrong?
Please help me
Thank you very much

you could use it for testing OS but the reason your having your "persistence" problem is because all live OS's on sardu dont save progress unless you use a lucid copy seeing as there is not a lucid copy of ubuntu im afraid your stuck

I searched the whole Forum and only found this thread.

What does persistence mean and when do I use it?

Hello

in the most modern linux live distri like fedora, ubuntu, suse. knoppix, kali, puppy or other linux it is possible to save a user-profile file for saving WLAN connection or Mozilla FF Bookmarks, Passwords or other userdefinied settings persistent in a file, ok?

If you booting your PC with SARDU is a persistent saving in a file not possible. SARDU is loading the linux distribution in live modus from the ISO file. ISO-Boot is not persistend saveable

I hope you understand now better ...

Then why when you select, ex: ubuntu x, the persistent's option is there in Sardu menu ?
