Encryption is the most effective way to achieve data security. To read an encrypted file, you must have access to a secret key or password that enables you to decrypt it. Unencrypted data is called plain text ; encrypted data is referred to as cipher text.

Not so long ago I had same problems with locky successor named Odin and I was lucky to find ShadowExplorer tool (http://www.shadowexplorer.com/downloads.html) and this guide (http://bravoteam.it/guide/odin) that two helped me to recover almost all encrypted files from shadow copies. So if anybody will have problems with ransom lockers in future - my best advice is to use ShadowExplorer or Recuva.
P.s. but the best recommendation is to make regular backups of all important data to offline HD! It is the best solution!
