Adding MS defender offline iso

Postby logical » July 15th, 2015, 5:05 am

I keep reading that it should be on the list of antivirus, yet don't see it on there. Do i have to add it as an extra now?
if so what settings would I use?
Thank you for any help!

I have been using YUMI for a while now and just switched to SARDU. I'm actually the one who added Windows Defender Offline support to it in version 0.0.8.9 (https://github.com/vvaldez/yumi/blob/ma ... Readme.txt).

YUMI is very straight forward and adding/removing from an existing USB drive is easy, but I've always found it cumbersome to setup a new disk and download all the ISOs. I decided to try SARDU and am very impressed. It does a lot of great things including mass downloading ISOs which is exactly what I felt YUMI has been missing.

Anyway, I bought a Pro Advanced license since there was obviously a lot of work done here, very convenient and I wanted access to the Extra menu. However, it is very disappointing it does not support Windows Defender Live. This post confirms it.

This page claims Windows Defender Offline support: http://www.sarducd.it/rescue-cd-antivirus.html (at the bottom)

However, it is not listed on the antivirus list: http://picpaste.com/sardu-no-wdo-1vQcBMpn.png

When I attempt to create an ISO it starts and gets stuck on "Coping file WDO_Media64.iso" http://picpaste.com/sardu1-wdo-jYHsrnr9.png

The log shows this: http://pastebin.com/kxS0tL7p

The setup has been tried with memdisk and GRUB with the same result:
GRUB: http://picpaste.com/sardu3-wdo-CMFhGXhb.png
memdisk - raw: http://picpaste.com/sardu2-wdo-zY7MLOAo.png

Why is WDO missing?

What are the steps to add it?

I need to make DVDs and USB boot devices.

Thanks.

No update on this? I paid for a Pro Advanced license and have never had a response to this question. I still cannot use SARDU with Windows Defender Offline. I am still using YUMI even though I paid for SARDU. My license is about to expire (I did not read the fine print that it was only good for one year). What possible reason do I have to renew? Because I can download a bunch of ISOs more easily than with YUMI? I still have to click on each item one at a time. I'd rather use the free and more stable YUMI. Please convince me.

FYI I finally got this working using my 4th Windows PC. This has failed on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and finally worked on Windows 10 using GRUB booting in the Extras menu (requires license that expires after a year).
