Hello Friends, I am John and I have a Dell 15 R Laptop. I want to Know which antivirus programme would be best suited for my Laptop?

you have avira free antivirus or avast
I prefer avira

I favour any flavour of Linux

All joking aside, in the long run (over a year or so), Avira, Avast, AVG and even MSE have their highs and lows.

Personally I use MSE for a while and cannot complain. But I am fully aware that my experiences aren't representative as I am very conservative with installing and/or using applications/games.

I don't use any warez on my OS (cracks, keygens and so on) and I limit evaluating software to virtual machines (VMWare or whatever).

Just my 2 cents.

Avira is best antivirus and i had also installed it in my laptop. Avira offers best free antivirus protection against dangerous viruses, worms, Trojans and spyware.

I have tested long years in our customizer office different AV's.
When you wan't a free software is the best "avira"

If you wan't a software for money is in my opinion the best Kaspersky.

If you are a clever internetuser, you need no AV. Right, NO AV!
"Indigital" have right and i am confirm with him.
When do know what you do in a legal way, you have no problems.

When i do internet i boot my win7PE or my slackware or ubuntu.
There i have without risk full internet fun and no scare for my onlinebanking and other.
I can save all files and i can use over 250 applications on my laptop. I boot my laptop
only then i need a printer or my scanner. (Printer and Scanner are a no go in my LiveSystem pro)

I have no AV oK (no eating my system resources by a AV), but i check my laptops in regular intervals with kav10, malwarebytes and spybot.
Also i check in regular intervals my systemautostart, look in my processes and i make every month a complete image with acronis true image.

That's what I thought a week ago as well. But there is an exploit to bypass the java sandbox... Of course it is not very likely that you as a clever internet user visit such a site but it is possible.

Yes, you are right in a regular Windows System. But in a livesystem plays no role where you surf in internet or what you do.
There is no risk when no hard drive is mounted. This is what i mean with this:

Indeed, Java is often plagued with security issues (holes), that get fixed too slowly.
Taking that into account I consider it an option (for desktop computers at least) to run critical applications in a virtual machine (VMware or any other VM environment).
That would be in case of Java JDownloader for example. If anything breaks the sandbox of Java it most likely cannot pass the border of the VM.

I recommend either Microsoft Security Essentials or Avira Free.
For on-demand scans / already infected system use Malwarebytes Anti-malware.
There is no need to pay for a full fledged internet security suite.
